Mithun Chakraborty is an Indian film actor knows for his work in Hindi as well as Bengali Kannada, Tamil and Telugu Cinema. He is one of the most popular actor in Bollywood.
Mithun was born as Gaurang Chakraborty on 16 June 1952 in Barisal then in East Bengal Pakistan (Now in Bangladesh).
He completed his graduation in Chemistry from Scottish Church College in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Latter He attened Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Maharashtra India.
Mithun made his first acting debut from a Bengali film Marigaya in 1976 which won for him National Film Award.
Mithun Chakraborty made his Hindi debute in the same year from the film Do Anjaane.
After that Mithun Chakraborty acted in number of film in Bollywood and in other languages.
He got popularity from his film Disco Dancer, Swami Vivekananda, Tahader Katha.
Before coming in acting Mithun Chakraborty was a Naxalite, but accidently he turned towards acting after killing his only brother in an accident.
In 2016 Mithun Chakraborty as a member of Parliament and also nominated for Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament by Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Benerji. But On 26 December 2016, he resigned as a Rajya Sabha MP.

He married with actress Yogeeta Bali in 1979 and they have three son and one daughter.
